    Quick update.
Bought electrical supplies- wiring, LED lighted switches (green and red), fuse block, spade connectors, livewell timer, and some red led courtesy lights. Still need task lighting, general lighting, and accessory outlets.
Also bought a new seat pedestal- ouch.
Got the lower deck (cabin area and under front deck) cut out and painted on both sides. Ready to install.

This week I should get the front deck, rear storage, both sides storage compartments, and under cabin deck storage cut, painted and ready for install. At least that is the goal. Saturday will be a short day, wedding all afternoon. It's supposed to rain off/on all weekend. I'll be setting up the dining fly over the boat and working under it.

Saturday progress. Figured out the front deck.
Dual hatches, 3 seat bases (single, or dual), and live-well, bait-well hatches.

Took forever to get the substructure worked out. Glad there is a bunch of aluminum I pulled out of the old side lockers. Cut them up for the substructure.
I do have a gap on the starboard side between the deck and gunwale mount bracket. I'm not sure where the 3/8" difference is coming from. Debating on thinning the plywood under the live-well or living with a little bow. Drops 3/8" in 8" (distance between live-well and boat side). It will be noticeable. Other options include shimming up the gunwale mount.

The perfection side of my brain is screaming to find the root cause and fix it. Although I suspect the root cause is a slight production variation from side to side. Then the question becomes which is the best option? Let it go, trim the supporting live-well deck, or shim up the mounting area?

I did work out my aft live-well and cooler. Originally I was going to borrow some metal forming gear and build my own from aluminum sheet stock. That perfectionist side again. Then the realist side says, spend the $50 and buy a Coleman Marine cooler for the live-well and cooler. Proud owner of two new Coleman Marine coolers.

Forecast changed- imagine that. Rain on hold until about noon Sunday. Good, I should get the front deck cut out and fabricate the rear storage compartments (battery storage, live-well, and anchor storage) before noon. Plus I have to make sure I can stuff all the foam in the back of the boat. I think I can pick up unused space under the splash well to offset the space I'm using for the anchor and storage compartments.

Picked up a boat cover today in case it rains. I needed one anyway.

You sound like me...you should fix it while you are there, or you'll look at it every single time you are in the boat and say, man I wish I would've fixed that while I had it apart! lol

    How about "Grand's Perfection"

You know all grandparents KNOW their grandkids are perfect...

You are a perfectionist since the 3/8" is bugging you and since you have gutted the boat you are making the boat perfect for you and your grandkids...

When you are done and out on the water with your grandkids catching crappie...it WILL be perfection.

    Not much progress today.
Got the front deck hatch opening cut out and plained the hatch doors square.
Determined I had to figure out the wiring before I could go any further. There was a bird's nest of wiring in the back of the boat. First off was to separate out the jack plate wiring. Once that was removed I got rid of about half the birds nest. On to the fun part, where did all these wires go? Some were broken off, some disconnected, and some spliced 4 or 5 times, with different colored wires. I had to run each one down from the panel to its destination. Label both ends and cut of all the splices/multi colored wire in between. Got the wiring sorted out and set off to the side. Tested the bilge pump and live-well pump, both work. At least the motors run.

Started laying out the rear desk/storage area. Developed a plan and marked up a sheet of plywood. Hear the severe weather alert on the radio, tells me I have about 30 minutes before it will hit, and hard. Drop everything and cover the boat with my new boat cover. Get everything back in the garage and ready to make the first cut on the rear deck. Phone rings, wife tells me my sons house had a tree fall on it. His wife and 5 day old son are at home and there is water on the floor. Not good. Drop everything, grab some tools and head to their house. Managed 35mph on the freeway, raining so hard I couldn't see squat. Sky had a nice green tint too. Never a good color for the sky, tornado weather. I get near their house and had to turn around. Road blocked, downed tree. Finally got to their house. 60' Black Locust blown over. Two story deck on the back of the house is in pieces. It took the brunt of the tree. I can see severe roof damage. Extent of damage unknown, too much tree in the way. Branches to the peak of the house.

My son calls a contractor he knows through work to come out and take a look. He shows up, his tree crew shows up and they can't see anything while on top of the roof, too much tree in the way. Get the bucket truck in position and round 3, raining sideways again, strong winds, etc. Forecasted to rain well past sun set. Discussing future events and power to the neighborhood goes out, and stays off. Packed up everything, son, daughter-in-law, 2 grandsons, filled a cooler, grabbed supplies for them and headed to our house. We have house guests, maybe for a long time.

Dang. Sorry to hear about the roof damage. Hope it don't turn out bad.

And most the wires were there already. I traced a few but decided to just place trolling motor batteries up front and use real short wires direct. All those wires brought power from rear to front to be able to use 24 volts. I could not figure it out and I did not want such long runs of skinny wire anyway. Especially for trolling motor. Good luck.

I agree, long run for battery wires. Those will be gone too. Where did you buy that trolling battery? If I remember correctly you bought it this year, correct?

Update on the house- claims adjuster comes tomorrow. They got the tree off the roof today. Roof is a total loss. Initial interior inspection, drywall cracks throughout the house, drywall screws popped through the house too. Means the whole house was racked. This may be a complete rebuild.

Sorry to hear about that. I hope everything is fixed better than when they started!

Received my order of Bluewater LED's today. Well, actually yesterday. It was in the mailbox and we don't check it everyday.
Also got the boat in the garage. Supposed to rain off and on all week. Managed to cut the tongue off and will be installing my swing-a-way kit tomorrow. I have a 20' garage, 16'4" boat plus motor hanging off the back on a jack plate at the moment. I cut 30" off the tongue, leaves me about a 1' between garage door and trailer tongue.

Jack plate will be replaced by a tilt and trim kit within the next two weeks. Actually my plan is too have the boat done in two weeks.
