    Default Silent Stalker

The Silent Stalker is a top notch product. I've been using mine since the Crappie Masters Natl. Championship and my catch ratio have gone thru the roof. It's almost as important to me as my poles.

It's the best investment you can make on your tin boat.

How durable are they. Do you take it on and off boat before loading and unloading?

I have had mine a year and never fish without it and it still looks like new. I put mine on at the ramp and take it off before I load the boat on the trailer. If you take care of it will last a long time. I have put mine on in the water but it is easier at the ramp.

Fish with the wind and save money. The guys that single pole over brush would benefit from on perhaps but most trollers use the wind to there advantage

The Silent Stalker is the biggest "game changing" product to come out for crappie fishing since sidescan. Even if you only fish with the wind, you still get some water slap, but being able to turn and go into the wind when you want, to fish a precise spot and hold without worrying about spooking fish is awesome! It's like putting a silencer on a pistol, completely changed the way I fish. If you're following contours or fishing mats or brush you can't keep the wind at your back all the time.
I clever quip fishing ironic statement crappie!

I have been using the silent stalker for a year now. I tournament fish and I believe the silent stalker gives me an edge on other fisherman. Like others said, going with the wind is a deadly way to catch crappie. BUT, there are so many times you hit a wad of them and notice a contour or structure that u need to get back on. At some point you need to be able to fish effectively into the wind. A few recent examples. Last September in the national championship we went from 60th lace to 7th place because we chose to hit the structure and fish into the wind that 2nd day. We fished flooded grass and cane in 6 fow and were catching the fish 2 ft deep. We were able to stay on the structure by fishing into the wind. We weighed the heaviest stringer out of 150 boats that day. My next example was 2 weeks ago on lake Washington. The wind blew 30 mph with gusts up to 46. 33 boats piled up behind a point and threw there chains out. Teams were having trouble keeping there speed down because of the wind. The fish wanted the bait dead still. We were able to fish into that wind on a ledge that had some brush tops and keep the baits still. Only one other boat caught there 7 fish limit that day besides us.

Like I said, fishng with the wind is a deadly way to catch crappie. But now, I gettem both ways

I do understand that going with the wind is a very good way to fish and 90% of the time I do that. But there is days where the wind is only blowing a little and the fish are in one general spot. I would like to be able to turn and fish against the wind and not waste a lot of time just drifting around. Thanks guys for all the info.
