Have used mine 5 or 6 trips and really like them.Been using 3/4 oz weights double minnow rigging and like how sensitive the tips are when u have a light bite.

I have 2 14' Southern crappie rods. They are great rods , I've pulled in 4 lb bass and a 5 lb walleye on them. I did just order 4 BnM PST 12' for pushing cranks with 3-4oz weights The Southerns are built for that , spider rigging or pulling they are good to go .

A couple trips now longlining with Southern Crappie Rods in the 14', 9' and 6'. This is the 4th brand I've used so far and is my favorite! Ed is a stand up guy and great customer service.

The Southerns aren't built for pushing heavy weights. Sorry I missed that before posting

    4 16ft BnM pst's and a couple 14's

I've hung 3.5 oz's off of them fishing deep and slow, and I've fished 1/32 roadrunners with them long lining, and they pull cranks just fine

    I love'em ............just my thoughts

sorry I have not tried any others

If your gonna push cranks , spiderrig, longline an only want one set of poles i agree. But for a light bite i believe u wont find anything better rhan the southern crappie and with the sensative tips they would make an awsome longline rod.
