Im going to make some cane mats and I have another thought about using cane since I have a endless supply at my camp. I could make my own underwater stake bed, maby take 100 canes around 7 feet long and push them two feet or so into the mud. How close would you put the canes?

Don, im not that old lol....

Thanks for the input--keep it comming, Ronnie
    Hey Ronnie:

Some guys put the bamboo/bucket condos in Greeson April befor last and they are still producing well. Still look good on the graph too. Looks like they will hold up real well. If the water gets low enough that they are exposed though I think they will break down faster.

Im getting fired up. I talked to a guy today that is going to save me some large flex pipe that he is throwing away. I plan to put out atleast 30 attractors at different depths. Thanks for the information.

    Hey Ronnie:

Good luck with your project - let us know how it turns out.

You asked earlier how far apart to put stakes for stake beds. I've not made very many but the one's I've done I spaced out about a foot or more. I think they need room to move around in them.

Make sure it is legal to put stuff in your lake and be sure and put stake beds where no one will be jumping off a dock or out of a boat onto them - that could really hurt!

Cane Pole you are right about that, lot's to look at down south!

Im going to get a few Christmas trees and place them in one spot and see what works better-pvc or trees or cane. How long does it take for the needles to die on a Christmas tree if left outside, not submerged?
