That bubba blade is a nice looking knife... I like it... Let us know how it does on some fish when you get into them again!

    VaCrappie,

It is a wonderful knife! Super sharp high carbon stainless with a teflon coating and a man sized handle.

For the first cut to take the fillet off, my electric Rapala makes a better cut? I can guide the electric knife along the spine with almost no lost fillet at all. And even though it's the sharpest knife I ever used, it still takes more effort than a electric?

I'm still glad I purchased it! After the first cut, then a flip and skin off, you need a regular knife to cut the rib bones off. The Bubba Blade is perfect for that.

Side note: I made a couple BLT's tonight (I'm a bachelor so I cook for myself or eat out) and cutting a tomato or a onion is wonderful with that super sharp knife! LOL

Lots of Crappie again today! I love these clean, deep PA lakes!

    Tight Lines,

    chaunc,

Not really! It really is a super knife for filleting fish!

$50 isn't too bad? It will last me a very long time. I like to use nice fishing equipment, this was a good buy.

I believe it is. I was just joking with you. Enjoy your bubba blade.

It depends on you, if you are professional and have experience of using electric knife then it is good otherwise use regular knife. you can get more info about electric vs regular knife here.

An eight year old thread. So much has improved since then. Rapala has two new models of lithium models now. Shark blades work better in them than the blades that come with them. I have both of them. I enjoy using both models. Also bought a folding bubba fillet knife years ago. Don’t use it much anymore tho.

Regular for me at least for now. I don’t mind the work of filleting after the fun of a day catching. Not sure what you guys do but I leave them on ice overnight fillet the next morning.
