Very cool! I've often wondered just how big of a fish I've had come by and sniff my bait. It's funny how little things can trigger the bite.
Thought this was cool in seeing how finicky those crappie are at biting the jig...

Interesting video. There were a lot more lookers than takers for sure.
I wonder what he could have done to trigger a bite rather than just a look. They seemed interested but didn't like something.
More movement? Different color? Live bait?
SC Triton - Little River/Long Cane River Rat
awsome video
I'm with you, brother ...
I couldn't help but notice that, too .... plus the fact that many of them seemed more interested in the camera, than the jig
Sure were a lot of them down there !! Many seemed interested enough to "taste test" the jig, while many others approached the jig only to veer off after close inspection. It almost looked like the jig didn't "smell" right, or "look" right to those fish, and they rejected it without mouthing it.
It really would have been interesting to see their reaction differences, had a wax worm or minnow been placed on the jig .... vs .... the plain jig. Even a spray of scent or a Crappie Nibble might have changed their interest level
Good work on the video, Kickingback !! Thanks for sharing !!

Great video
Good luck and good fishing
Must have been using a jig I tied! I think I get more lookers than takers most the time!
I was thinking it was the lure color and the look of the jig overall. It just didn't look natural or good in color IMHO.
USAF Retired and fishing!
Great Video and something I noticed in it. I have always been told and thought that your lure had to be above a crappie, that they always come up from under the lure to take it. It seems in several of the shots that the crappie were coming down from above to look at the bait. I am not so sure that it is as critical to be a exact depth or just in a certain range. There were a lot of crappie in that pic so I know that makes a difference also
That jig just didn't smell right. Did you have gas or suntan lotion on your hands when you touched it? Way too many turned away as they got within smelling distance. Nice video by the way.
