Shade loving Crappie

Tom ive only been a shallows guy so im trying to learn deeper methods now to extend my season- working on long line trolling- it plum comical to watch- but for 25 years of working em in the shallows for that 6 week +/- run forget your minnows & work them jigs- when they'r in 2-6 fow on the banks I wouldn't trade all the minnows in the world for a good 1/32 oz pink head white marabou tail jig- but I gota buy a minnow bucket now trying to learn trolling - lol- !!

Yeah, from what I read You can catch Crappie all summer trolling, although it seems most guys use crank baits to long line troll, I just invested a couple hundred dollars in a 4 pole Cumberland crappie t bar and 4- 14ft Southern Crappie poles to spider rig, so thats the way i will fish for them this Summer, although long line trolling for Saugeye in Summer is popular in these parts and I may have to give that a try too.

Any pictures of those Buckeye Crappie???

We caught a slew of them but most were throw backs, but I do have a pic of a 6# LMB I caught last week that I posted in the Ohio section if You need entertainment? lol

Yea tom that's what I hear to I'm concentrating on long lineing this summer I'll start trying spider rigging next spring figure better get a handle on 1 thing @ a time! Lol!

Warmer it gets the more they will relate to the shade.

I don't longline hardly any but hit bp and docks as summer drags out in our lakes
