I have cork handles on rods that have gotten a little grimy. What is something that works good to clean them?CF

mr clean original magic eraser. Works like a charm.
Walmart, dollar store or any place with home cleaning supplies should have the magic eraser.

You can get the mr clean magic eraser pads at almost any store... its in the cleaning supplies section.
If you LIGHTLY run it up and down your cork a few times without scrubbing too hard you will not have to re-seal with u40. If you scrub the heck out of it, use sand paper, a stiff tooth brush, tooth paste, or a rough cleaning pad you will take off the outer layer and need to reseal it. If you do not reseal it, the oils from your hands will get into the cork and eat away at it and you'll start losing small chunks of cork. If you are cleaning up a $40 rod then I wouldn't even worry about sealing the cork, but if you are cleaning a $100+ rod I would think you would want to protect your investment and seal it up.
I use a scotchbrite pad and dishwashing detergent. Like brand new. Never sealed after.
