Thanks very much to everyone that is bidding on this first auction and making it a huge success. I will probably do one every week or so till after the first of the year. So, for those that are interested, keep a watch on ebay cuz I'm not going to make a crappie.com post about every one I might do.

Now THAT'S they way to run an auction!!!

Showing a recent picture of clients with fish they caught and a link to your website where anyone interested can see hundreds of more pictures of clients with fish they caught is a good idea. Folks don't care how many fish or how of big of fish the guide can catch. They want to know if they can expect to catch fish while fishing with you.

Dressing it up a bit with some good looking text with different colors and a nice layout and adding a few scenery pictures is a nice touch.

Doesn't hurt to have one good picture of the guide for the trip so folks get an idea of what kind of character they'll be fishing with if they are the winning bidder.

Having the confidence to start the bid low enough so folks will throw in a bid or two just to see what happens gets the bidding started so bidders can get more interested and keep on bidding.

Man, if I didn't know any better, I'd think you've had some advertising experience!

I've made some real good repeat customers that first started fishing with me because of an auction I ran. If done right auctions are a great way to get some real inexpensive, targeted exposure and help fill your schedule.

Say, to everyone on crappie.com, thanks for making this auction a HUGE success. It is really humbling when things like this happen. There will be more auctions to come. I will probably start the next one on Saturday or Sunday. Again, THANKS and hope to see you on the water somewhere soon.
