    Default Best Jig Color?

Does Color Really Matter? I Have Caught Crappie On So Many Colors At Different Times . Are All These Different Colors Just To Get Fisherman To Buy More Baits? Or Do They Really Make A Difference? If So What Is Your Favorite Color?

I've witnessed on more than one occasion where one color seems to outshine the other for whatever reason. Apparently it can make a difference. Case in point, last year my son and I were fishing together with four rods a piece. I sat and watched him catch 11 crappie to my 1 on a Southern Pro minnow tube with an orange colored jig head. This color worked great until lunch time. After lunch he didn't get a fish on it. The depth and way we were fishing didn't change. We started catching fish on other colors and I eventually caught up with him.

Can't let the little guy think he can outfish his dad. lol!

Sometimes it doesn't matter what you throw at them, sometimes you'll only need to change or try a few different ones and they'll hit a few different ones. Sometimes they'll only hit one and you just have to keep changing and changing until you get on them.
I don't think there's a best jig color for that reason.
If I had to choose I'd probably go with a darker color head and darker body with a bright(green chartreuse probably) tail.

Hard to go wrong with solid chartreuse or a "chartreuse and something" combo.

Whatever the fish want at that particular time

It can make a big difference at times. Murky water I like fl. red head and hot orange tail or FL. Yellow Tail, but you let it clear up and sun out I love blue with white tail.

But keep in mind as to who the expert is, the fish and let them tell you want is working that day!

I have noticed over the years that some of the fish seem to be alot smarter than I am.

We do the best on jigs with a pink head, white "body" and white tail.

Another great combination for us is a red head, green "body" and orange tail.
