Has anyone tried the new American Angler Pro EFK? They saw it's the fastest and strongest model they have ever made. At $100 it's also about twice as much. I really liked the AA Ultra. It had the fastest, smoothest cutting stroke of any I've tried. The 31600 model was worthless, not enough power to stay on the backbone. If anyone has tried the new model I would like to hear about it. I do fine with my Rapala but sure miss the Ultra.

Got an American Angler that is about 10-15 years old, and is still going strong. Consider it an investment. It will be cheaper than a new Mister Twister every spring!

    +1

It was a sad day when my American Angler died. The five different ones since then are junk. Dull, slow, no power and I really hate hacking up my crappie. I consider them God's gift, and it makes me feel bad. I would pay for something that works.
    American Angler EFK?
    Anybody?

And the saddest part is if it's not made in China, it's not on the market in the US, or nearly so. Just sayin'

Almost bought one yesterday. My old AA ultra is still running though. BPS has this new knife for $79...if it's close to as good as the old Ultra, it's worth the money.

There must be some reason its on CLEARANCE. If all of US would buy less of this China cr@@ and let these retailers get stuck with it perhaps with time we could turn some of them around. Its worth a shot don't you think?

Couldn't agree more. I used to recommend it all the time until a couple of years ago when it came apart after a being used a few times. I bought it brand new and kept it put away as a back up. I bought another one that didn't come in the case and it felt terrible in my hand. "American" Angler doesn't deserve to be called this. Terrible! I won't buy them anymore.

An American company that would make a really good, commercial grade electric fillet knife could charge 2-3 times what the other companies charge for junk and get everybody's business.
