If so have you ever casted a float with it? I own a 7ft Sam Heaton and like it pretty well but I'm looking for extra distance casting a float from the bank... Any experience with the 9ft Sam Heaton? Also, was sort of looking at the micro lite float n fly rod too... No clue which one to go with...
I find the float and fly a bit heavy in action and front end weight for what I like to do with a float and jig. By that I mean that the weight makes it want to keep going when the cast is done. The 9' Sam is on my want list but not for use with a float. I use the 8' BGJP for a lot of different things and will say for you to handle one before you buy. The crappie maxx rods at BPS come in different actions, from UL to MH, and are worth a look also. Good luck, lots to choose from.

I have 2 and love them. Put a good real on and go to work. They are soooo smooth.
Sam Heaton Rods are CrappiePro Approved... Love the Rods and Love BnM. I have used them for both jigging and casting and would not have one bit of a problem using them. Good rod's and a Good Company.

I have a 7ft, two 9ft, and two 10 ft and love them all. Most sensitive rod for the money I have ever owned and I have and do have a lot of rods. The 9 footers are good rods and balance out really well. I use them most of the time for vertical fish at all depths. The only downfall is the wind really makes them whippy but that is the case with most long rods, that's why I bought the 7ft. I wish they made this rod in a 8ft, that is my favorite all around rod length, so if anyone from b n m or Sam Heaton himself sees this, please make this rod in 8ft and send me two for xXmas please!
I fish jig n float on a consistent basis. BnM float and fly rod is pretty tough to beat for casting floats...... Have fished jig n bobber with a 9ft Sam Heaton , like the float and fly model a lot better for that type of fishing.
