    Default Customizing trolling bars?

Has anyone tried using 1/2 copper water line? Too flimsy? I need to 90 degree up over gunnel for leg room. Currently have gas pipe just heavy and too bulky for off on removal for traveling. I know 3/4 would work just not happy about the diameter of the pipe. Do you think the 1/2 will bend if I hang up in a brush pile? ( Just not stout enough)I figure someone here is in the know! Thanks L B

I'm sure it will bend. Try EMT conduit instead.

Copper is too soft, that's why it bends so easy. I have used EMT and you can bend it with one of those benders they sell for conduit.

Thanks. Ya'll just want to save as much money as I can so i can have the rod holders I want...will keep searching. The conduit might be the way to go borrow a bender to get the holder over gunel then up, to give me plenty leg room!

Something similar that goes over gunnel to provide me more room. My old Ranger has limited space up front and the angle over provides 4" or so on each side. As far as material. Lite and strong and a pin to remove fast and easy for travel or to bass fish. If I ever do... Bought stopped green fishing now because of the Crappie fever
