We had a favorite lake in Ontario that we loved to vacation at every year. Beautiful remote lake with crystal clear water. It was a great smallmouth and jumbo perch lake. Somehow rock bass were introduced into the lake. They have taken over the lake. At first, you could catch some nice ones but soon they over populated and became stunted. Huge eyes! You can't fish shallow or deep without catching rock bass. Perch are now gone and you have to wade through the rockies to try and catch a smallie. Even using large lures doesn't discourage them. We are now looking for a new smallmouth lake in Canada to vacation at.

Fliers are a little more Bluegill/Crappie shaped than that. (though the spotted sides are similar)

I'd love to see one that Big! I never caught one as big as a decent bluegill! Catch one here and there at Guist Creek Lake and may have caught 1 or 2 at Ky Lake off gravel

That is a goggle eye, red eye or rock bass. Found in streams and lakes in midwest.

Come up to any of the lake erie breakwalls and shorelines in early to mid june and you'll catch lots of them that are 12" and better, but i've never got one 15". I catch a lot of smallies while fishing there too. We call rockbass sweet meat.
