IL have a 1542 Lowe and love it, custom livewell remove middle seat, stainless seat mounts. It's a good boat in the wind. 9.9 johnson

Don't go too small , like some said look in the classifieds or Craigslist. Save big bucks if you can find the right used rig.

Well for an update I have located a leftover 2010 G3 1544 and have gotten a fantastic deal if I approve after seeing it in person. Wont be able to till week after next but i'd say "it's the one". Plus I've now got a 50hp 2 stroke 'rude short shaft to hang on the back of it. Then I'll have to save up for a jet foot.

Nope no velcro, they are a older so it's not to bad and always have life jackets on, and honestly while they are with me I don't move around much, I just enjoy the time with them, they grow up way to fast!!!

Yikes!! a 50 hp, I just went out and checked mine and it is rated for 25 hp max. I have an mid 70's 20hp on mine tiller steered and it does a real good job, plenty of speed and very easy to control. I think you will be happy with it if you buy it.

Just sold my 1542 topper. I had fashioned a ply deck on the front. Didn't have any problems with stability by myself. With a second person on the back it became a bit more of a balancing act if they shifted around.

EVERY 6 INCHES ADDS A LOT OF STABILITY . TRICK IS TO USE A 1436 FOR 40 YRS . THE 1542 FELT LIKE A SHIP . SINGLE POLE SHALLOW WATER THE 1542 IS FINE . BIGGER IS BETTER FOR ANYTHING ELSE . THE COST OF LARGER MOTORS WERE TO MUCH(ON MY BUDGET) ,SAME WITH WEIGHT OF GLASS THEN YOU REALLY NEED THE 115 HPR . AND UP .I WAS NOT WILLING TO FINANCE ANYTHING .
