At 70, I feel your back pain, right between the shoulder blades.............but, even though I gave up the big boats some 10 years ago, I can't fish from
the bank. Got to stay in the kayak and on the water. Herniated disc won't allow me to stand over 20 minutes, then got to sit. That's why my kayak
seat has got to be comfy. Paddlin' around keeps the upper torso in shape and the mid section from spreadin' to places uncomfortable. LOL
Good luck on your decision and nobody knows what your going through better than you. Enjoyed all the posts while you were in the process of getting
her all fixed up. Just another step in your life you got to take, or at least right now that is the way you feel. Weigh your options and take you time.

That is the nice part my friend. I do have some options. One option is not on the table. I have had 15 major surgeries in my life (heart surgery, both shoulders surgery, palmer reconstruction, appendectomy, foot surgery ,torn retina eye surgery, and several minor ones.) I am tired of being cut on! I have refused to have back surgery for the past 20 years. That is how long I have been dealing with this twisted verterbrae. In fact one of my doctors once told me "Does it hurt really bad when you turn to the left? I said "Sheeskalambooskayes!!!" He said "Well then don't turn that way!" Arthur it is has been a constant companion. Pain is a constant companion. Pain makes man think....Thoughts make man wise....Wisdom makes life endurable!

Long story short, I hooked it up to my John Deere last week by attaching a 1 7/8" hitch ball to the tractor. Makes it easier to get in and out of the gate to go fishing. Time is on my side before I make the final decision......besides that I only posted it's availability on c.com and there have been a few nibbles but no takers.

Have had my share of surgeries for sure and have plates and screws in my lower back with fusions, some took and one did not. For 4 years thought I would never fish again, but finally about 4 years after they did what they did to my back witch included some nerve damage, I finally thought maybe I could still fish. Clearly I could and got another boat and later a few more until I ended up with my Lund and am happy with this one. Am also diabetic and have trouble with my feet, then my shoulders I never had surgery on, I should have way before now, but with my heart problems they really don't want to do anything to my shoulders because of risk. Had my 5 bypass surgery in 2000, have been on blood thinners since because that left me with my heart in A-Fib. So far I can't see selling my boat, but if it makes you uncomfortable then that is what you should do and you are the only one that can tell that.

    Good luck buddy!
