I've got a couple myself.
1. As someone else stated, the first crappie goes in the livewell. The only exception to this rule is if I'm on a lake with a size limit.
2. If I pull up and catch a crappie from the first top I fish, I may as well go home as that will most likely be the only fish I catch that day. My best days are when I fish 30 minutes or so and then "find" the fish.
3. I never wear a brand new cap fishing. (unless I don't want to catch fish) The cap must have acquired multiple days of sweat and grime prior to making its first fishing trip.

Any one of the above 3 is not good for a day of fishing, but they can be overcome IF, it is only one of the above circumstances. If more than 1 apply, I should have stayed home.

On the other hand, if I tear something up prior to dropping a jig in the water, for instance breaking the tip on a brand new fly rod, oh, its on!! This is gonna be a wonderful day!! (can't do this one on purpose though. It has to be an accident. I know this from experience )

Fish will always hit the color jig you only have one!!! Can never have two many jigs of each color!!!!

If I don't have a girl in a bikini with me, I don't even go fishin... Maybe thats not so much superstition as personal preference!

I'd like to figure out how to incorporate this one into my superstitions! Maybe a bikini clad girl steppin on a new fly rod and I'd catch a world record crappie!! I'm sure my wife would have a few things to say about this.

If you catch your first fish on Black/chart on the first cast.Take the black/chart off!!! You will not catch another!!!

Funny Crappiehoarder was thinking of starting a similar thread...My two superstitions are if I catch a limit or nice mess of fish wear the same hat next time or on a fishing trip over a few days won't shave the next morning and if the fishing continues to be good will go however long it last without shaving. Have looked pretty scruffy few times.

That explains it. I haven't shaved since last Sept. and I have been catching a bunch of fish. Killed a bunch of deer and squirrels also.
