I once saw a fight happen on Conway over a similar situation. It was in a tree line where Gold Creek enters the Main lake. A couple of guys left a spot. I guess they went for more bait or something. But, they actually ramed their boat into the intruders upon their return. Paddles, buckets, poles were all swinging at each others head. It would have made the $10 grand on the funniest videos. Maybe I should be that serious when I go fishing.

Jerry,
Thanks for the insightful, humorous, & honest post. I'm new to crappie fishing and have been placing fish attractors in West Point Lake (GA) to take some of the guesswork out of fishing when I take the kids. As much as I would like to keep the spots secret, I realize that a)I don't own the lake b)permanent structure helps fishing for all c)I've stumbled across another fish attractor that someone else worked hard to build and will not hesitate to try it if I "swing by" and no one is on it (and the water comes back up). I enjoyed making and placing the attractors almost as much as fishing (I'm an engineer) and getting worked up over their use would just kill the whole enjoyment factor.
