I bought an Omega Z02 and the Z03. They cast a country mile and are very smooth. Have never had a spincast with a good drag. If I did it again I would have bought 2 of the Z03s.

Go to custom search above and enter closed faced spinning reel and spincast reels. This topic has been addressed several times in the past. You should be able to get some good info regarding price and how well different ones work or different people. Keep in mind it needs to match the rod you plan on using and you need to consider if you're using it to cast jigs or a float with a jig. Anything can cast a float with a jig but casting a jig is another story.

On almost any reel you buy, the line that comes with it is almost completely useless. I usually cut off about 35-40 yards and connect a quality line to the old line with a uniknot. Be careful about buying price. The few bucks you save on the front end usually means you will pay for it later when it doesn't work very well or breaks down after a year or two.

I can't speak to the new stuff, but I have been going through several old spincast and I really like the old Johnsons. I will say however the best made real I have looked at was a abumatic 290. Just built out of higher quality stuff and smoother finished. Ebay is the place for the older well made stuff.

My wife, 4' 6" and 105 lbs, swears by the Pflueger Cetina Spincast Reels. They come in three sizes. She has one of each size. They throw just smooth as silk. They are a little pricer than Zebco or Johnson but you can just tell lookin at um they will last a lot longer.

x2 on the old Zebco 33 and Johnson Century. Make sure they're made in the USA. I guess the only place to find them is on ebay. You can never go wrong with either of these two reels. They don't make em like they used to.

Spinning reel all the way! Those reels you are talking about tend to tangle up a lot

I've never had a gripe with my zebco ONE classics. As a matter of fact, I picked up a couple spares as used items on eBay last year. However, you do have to keep them clean for the drag to stay smooth. They've been durable, and cast fine with a good limp, light line. Any problems I've had with the tangles are always due to stiffer/heavier lines or line twist problems - that can make a day with a spincast reel a nightmare. I keep my panfishers rigged with 6lb test Ande tournament, and I keep them spooled full (not overfull), and haven't had any problems with either of them. With the light line and a little longer pole for a bit of leverage, you should have no problems with ultra light jigs or with bait.
Always do what's right - it'll amaze some people and mystify the rest!
