I've had a PDV2 or three years. The only problem I've had is that foot control is stuck on constant. I do a lot of slow trolling, so it's not the end of the world. I can put the variable speed on 0, and it will stop. After seeing other guys with the Terrova, I can't see the money difference....yet.

I like the electronic steering, but it is a noisy sucker.

Crappie girl it's and Apple and oranges thing. Most of us talk in terms of a regular boat and being able to be in a different position for lifting and retrieving. I feel for you because I fish with a friend on his pontoon and it is a bear to retrieve since it is all the way down with no leverage. And it sure don't help when you don't bend in all the places you used to

I love my terrova. It is a little noisy on those quiet mornings but I can put the foot controller in front of my fishing partner, while I go mess around in the back of boat and he can still keep the boat under control. I also love being able to run the tm from the back of the boat with my remote when pulling cranks or whatever.

I have both the PD and Terrova both with I-pilot and I like them both but the Terrova has a much better deployment system to it.
I slow troll all the time so I never use the foot pedal but it's there if I need it.

As far as the noise goes it's not that bad. I can honestly say it hasn't bothered the fish... The thing you have to do is get out and use it and it will become easier to control every time out.
Going from a cable steer to a power steer it takes some getting use to but I have never regretted making the switch.

Either motor will do a good job for you but like mentioned before get one with the built in US2 Transducer. You will regret it if you don't.
