    I used to refuse to believe it could make a difference but after seeing it first hand to many times I fully believe it can be a difference maker. I normally use 4lb ultra green maxima but I always have a rod with 2lb max in the boat and use it when the bite gets tough. Really seems to matter most when fish are suspended and I'm using a pitch and drift technique.

    Agreed. I picked up a copy of Bassmaster recently (Aaron Martens on the cover.) He had an article about drop shotting and said he often used 3# line because he got a lot more bites than with 5#.

    I fish it on a Loomis SR781 and that soft tip really protects it well. Biggest drawback is you cant be lazy and leave the net on the deck.
