But that is also like wishing there was no power to run our PC's or AC's or heaters. TV's or any other stuff.
Also go back to no boat motor, Or anything like that.
Even have to walk or ride a horse.

Found 22 sites to try the other day. Had to force myself to leave the rods at home and just go looking, though! I also found one those spots that you talked about when you started this thread. I knew that their were 3 brush piles in this spot, but I didn't know that their were 7 more so close by. These 10 are all within a 70 yard X 30 yard rectangle size area. Can't wait to give them a try!

It gives you a new outlook on crappie beds. Or it did me. LOL And to think all the people that believe there the only ones that have mats or beds in or on that spot. Man it makes you smile to know what is down there.
Now for Humminbird to wake up and start charging everyone from here on out around $100,000, per unit. That way everyone can't find the hot spots.

Also I hope to have a few more shots of a special spot in Yellow creek Monday or Tuesday..

They may as well be $100,000.00. $2000.00 is not in the average guys budget for electronics for the rig. At least not my budget.

Jeff I don't think its worth it for you. HEHE AS all you do is ride around in the boat anyway. And drag crank baits.

Yes the unit is high. but when you tell your wife how nice it will make her fishing trips . And she fell for it. Well what can I say...
    I was good.
And would buy one again. But it does not help you catch fish. Even though Todd did catch a 15" crappie

From a spot that was found with the unit. But that was the only crappie from it. Crappiehunter is now catfishhunter. LOL

Can you help me identify some of the object on your picture. Im thinking about purchasing this unit or a similar one but would like to know that im able to understand the result clearly enough. I edited the picture at the below link

I assume what I circled in red is bait schools under or near the boat. The yellow circles are structure and the blue is a school of baitfish as well or is it something else? Does this view not show larger fish or why arnt there any on the screen(unless I missed them).

Yes Yellow is around the crappie beds. and red is bait and the bigger white lines are fish in them. Also the line in the middle is the boat and the dark blue where you have the red is the water under the boat. As that is showing the water column under the boat.
Then Blue to me is fish. As I have caught fish while seeing that.
Also this unit in side scan is more for structure then fish. but will and does show fish.
Also there is fish showing around the beds..
2 weeks ago Thursday while taking a guy out fishing for catfish. I found a log and it showed 2 white lines behind it. Caught a blue cat that was 30+ lbs and lost him at the boat. Also caught him right when the bait and back of the boat was right over the way point.
That is the cool part. I can run the cursor over the stake bed and make it then mark the other three before letting the screen move.
You can even mark a fish or brush pile on the standard depth finder.

PS go to post 20 of this thread and look at those you can see the fish around the bait.
