I do know some use leaders w/mono or Flouro to offset that Con of Braid, but good point. As to types of fish I am discussing and what # constitues UL, I see my little bitty UL Pflueger President 6920 is rated to 6lb mono, sure you could go higher w/braid, but I do consider it ultra light gear, and b/c I catch other fish that are larger like bass, AND b/c of the issues w/hangups and trying to minimize lure loss, I do see 6# as UL class line on UL rod/reel. 2 and 4#, if the line actually breaks at those points, would not hold up much where I fish. 6 cast well, catches well, and is more reliable in my experience, again, for how n where I fish. Great feedback by all -thanks much.
