Its all about what the market dictates. Aluminum is much more expensive and time consuming to install. Wood is cheap. People want cheap when they buy a boat. If one manufacturer installs aluminum which cost more, they will sell fewer boats than the manufacturer that is installing wood and charging less money for the finished product.
Its business 101. What are people willing to pay and what is it they desire....

This is true...especially the last sentence. Its what drives custom boat businesses. And believe me, once youve gone thru a few boats that tore up or didnt quite perform or lay out quite like you wanted...people are very willing to pay for what they want..especially for quality.
