Hey thanks for your input guys. Looks like we won't be leaving as early as planned because all the nearby bait shops are out of minnows.
@NIMROD -- I need to get some of those jigs, thanks man for the info!

Monday I'm fixin to find out how good they bite in the heat--of course, the high for Tulsa is forecasted to be only 95. But I think that's hot enough to give me a fair test.

The hotter, the better in my opinion. Some of my largest fish have been caught on 100 degree days. The biggest PITA is keeping minnows alive if you use them so buy extra. Lots of ice on the boat, sunscreen and shade.

Find the thermal kline brother. The crappie will be were its starting to cool down. Here in MO it varies from lake to lake. Count your line down to see how long it takes to get a hit. Then keep track of that and let it fall for those amount of seconds each time. We put three limits in the boat today, and it was HOT!!!!

just hammered them here @ my home lake, hit 105 here yesterday, I put in @ 3am an fished till around 7am,
put a bit of glow paint on them jigs, I mainly using minnows fished @ 12 to 15feet in 25 to 30 fow,
2 lights down @ 2' 2 anchors set on the drop off, fish the dark shadows around your lights.
a red light in the boat keeps the bugs down, those bugs can ruin an evening, lol
even if the bite is good,
    Have a great day,

Okay, like I said, we had a late start because everyone was out of minnows around here. Put in at around 6:30am. It didn't really get hot until around 11:30am.
The catfish were hitting our minnows like crazy. Caught a few of those. 26 fish altogether. Not too shabby. It got up around 100 by 1pm. Found a cool spot under a bridge. LOL

Check out my post on the fishing in South Dakota. Those were caught in 90's degree weather. I like fishing in the high heat. I can't stand the heat as much as I use to but still like going when it is hot. EB
