Tom, obviously... Crappie.com is not about tournies in your experience, or not your ideal expectations. What did you expect? Post/schedule an event and dozens will show up? Well, maybe cdc is not the venue for that, maybe it is, but bad mouthing the site so many love due to your experiences in your desires is not the way to win fellowship.

    Good luck.

Some of the members in Oklahoma have put together a string of Tourneys on some of the more popular lakes here in the State. Everyone is welcome and it's a fairly low budget affair. Nothing more than a few of the people that have met through the love of Crappie fishing and Crappie.com. That's what I like about this site! It enables us to meet others that enjoy Crappie fishing. Some are here for the friendship, others for the advertisment of their goods or services. All in all, you only joined us last month. I'd suggest you give it some time and get to know the C.Cers in your area. You'll be amazed at how your ideas of having tournaments take off. Don't forget to get the input and suggestions of bodies of waters to fish from other members. You'll find some lakes have more of a following.

    Good Luck!

Keep plugging away at it and don't get discouraged brother. Maybe do one for a charity or something and just advertise the fire out of it and good things will happen for you in the future.

Crappie.com is about far more than tournaments, alone. Tournaments are just one small part of the overall idea this site is trying to promote. We're here to discuss, debate, pass on knowledge, teach the newbies & expand the knowledge base of the very experienced. Pictures just lend to helping show what words can only intend to show. I can say I caught a "mess of fish" at lake X, and tell about what I used & how ... but, if I have pictures, then it lends credence to what I call a "mess of fish".

This is a discussion board oriented site. That means that when you bring up a subject or ask a question ... anyone is free to discuss it, & give their opinion on it (good or bad). Site rules dictate that you must be cordial in the expression of your opinion, and not make personal attacks towards other members. The unwritten rule is : we agree to disagree, and be nice about it.

There is a forum to list tournaments in, and some of the Crappie Camps, Bashes, Slabfests, and general get togethers may also be listed in there. There are some that have a "pot"($) & others that are strictly braggin rights, some that are "prizes only" (no $ involved), and others that are simply set up to end in a fish fry. Not everyone is competitive, but still like the camaraderie & fellowship that comes with these events.

You might try attending some of those type of events, and if there's a friendly competition wager (ie - entry fee/pot) involved, then volunteer to bring your scales/tent/etc. and get to know more of the members that attend. Then, you might want to start one, yourself ... and help it grow into an ongoing event. Coming in fresh & unknown, and suggesting people put up good money to fish a tourney, just isn't going to garner a whole lot of interest IMHO.

Wow, I agree with Donnie at Crappie logic..CEPT IT'S ON REGULAR MISSISSIPPI BOARD .. I'm sure when MCC 1st started it was only a few boats... Over time it built up to what it is today.

Thomas you posted this thread yesterday about your 250 entry fee tourney, myself and a few others responded. I dont know what you want but if you are gonna post on open forum and ask folks "What you think" then you better be ready. I felt you may have got bent when I saw you had deleted a post. It dont happen over night brother, you havent even given your smaller tourney thing a chance. Dont try to slam Crappie.com because someone responded to your thread, which you ask em to do, in a way that did not agree with you. Good luck with your endevours but be careful what you ask for if you are gonna wear your feelings on your shirt sleeve.

And for the record being as you want to throw the laundry out there, you posted a thread on a Sunday afternoon that went into its third page in less than 3 hours, pretty good response for a slow day on the MS boards in my opinion. Didnt see any negative comments toward your idea and alot of constructive stuff. Being new to the MS boards I guess you havent figured out that if you are not getting ignored that is a good thing and that alot of folks do more reading than typing. Apparently you got bent and came over here to whine to the world and now I done got bent a little, good luck. I am done as long as you keep it real, but ifn you gonna post it tell the whole story.

all I said in to responce to his thread was IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE A SINGLE POLE ONLY TOURNEY FOR THAT AMOUNT OF MONEY so he gets on the main forum and types this well, your not gonna get anywhere with your ideas acting like this in my opinion, like i said before good luck with it but I don't see it going anywhere
