    i found some at home depot today. going to mount a reel or two as a test in the days ahead. i spoke with slater's as well and got a few pointers. thanks men.

    I like silicon tape. I have a buddy who wraps his on with thread (like you would a rod guide). Two bands on the top foot and two and the bottom.

    I haven't found any yet that I would trust. I use a figure 8 of GOOD electric tape and don't stretch it any more than you have to. one pass and wrap it around the band with very little to no stretch when you finish and it wont slip back, leaving a sticky mess. Shrink wrap over this would be a real good install IMHO.

    You can find shrink rap at electical supply stores, auto parts stores(NAPA, Auto Zone, Parts America), Lowes,Home Depot, large truck repair shops, heavy equipment repair shops, even Railroad repair shops and marine dealers.
    Fastenal, Bowman, Kar products, or any one else that sells MRO (Maint, Repair and Operational items) sites.
