it was horrific to say the least , unimaginable is a better word and to think , some 80 years later we as a race of beings have learned very little from these types of things and continue to let greed and other agendas continue this path ....
makes me sad to think we have not learned how to coexist peacefully ....
to be very sure I tip my hat to those that gave up so much for us to remain a free country

My grandfather (Purple Heart recipient) was there. Never liked talking about it much. I agree the greatest generation!!!

It's sad to me, so much learned then pushed aside by bureaucrats who's greed for the almighty dollar. Many lives lost, for what??? My Dad, Retired in June 1970 with 32 yrs in Corps. Many Campaigns overseas, and war zones. He also didn't talk much about them. Didn't care for politics nor politicians much either. Figured they are what got him into some real sticky situations. Couldn't go through a metal detector without setting it off either. One of, if not THE Best Generations for sure...
Proud to have served with and supported the Units I was in: 1st IDF, 9th INF, 558th USAAG (Greece), 7th Transportation Brigade, 6th MEDSOM (Korea), III Corp, 8th IDF, 3rd Armor Div.

Some of us do care and remember the sacrifices of those gone before us.
Catch all you can when you can!

Thank you Mstr Dan. Some of us do care and remember much more than others. Remove my hat and put it away this day, as well as other days in my heritage. Texas Independence March 2, 1836. Texas A&M muster, April 21 each year, San Jacinto field day - tradition meeting evolved to include a memorial to those who are absent. We all announce "Here" when being called upon. My heritage goes deep into the Republic of Texas. No emojis here.
