bitsy minnows yes these are great when fish are not real deep, very good spring time bait as crappie around shallower waters 8-10 feet
Anyone ever tried those little 1/8 oz rat-l-traps fro crappie? Methinks I'm gonna try some this afternoon. Probably going to put a split shot a foot or two in front of one and cast it in 9-15 ft water. I have some of those bitsy minnows I may try as well. I'd like to catch some bigger crappie in my pond.

Shhhh Throwback... keep these a secret. I've used them for years for crappie holding in 5 to 7 foot of water. The 1/8oz will dive bout 3 or 4 feet and the larger crappie just swallow them whole. I like chartreuse... shhhhhh
Water I fish is only 9-15 ft deep. They should work great to cast while I'm trolling jigs. Maybe I'll pick up a few extra fish that way. Hopefully larger too!
i use them,to troll in summer, when they are suspended over deep water. catch gills bass pike trout......too.
I like the bigger ones better, but I am usually fishing bigger bodies of water too.
