IP has made longlining easier/more enjoyable, but more productive, ehhhh.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

My hb's with gps has helped me mark and get back on the open water spots that use to take me 20 minutes to re-locate. Can go right to them now. I have over 100 spots marked and can fish them at any time with no problem trying to remember where they are.

I'm old, so, for me changing is hard. Used to chuckle at my Dad trying to land salmon with the old Zebco reel. Couldn't get him to switch over to an open face spinning reel with an upgraded drag system. Don't get me wrong I've got some of the modern day gadgets and toys, GPS, I-pilot, etc, but until I discovered what a difference a good graphite pole makes I didn't know what a tap from a crappie was. Even using a cheap graphite rod didn't get it. 2 years ago I brole down and spent big bucks (for me) on a high quality graphite pole and my eyes were opened. Never felt those taps before or didn't know what they were, rocks or something ticking the line. Now it's like an electric shock. Yep... graphite poles.
