Lost a fish basket with 8 or so nice crappie. My fishing partner swore he tied it to a boat cleat but it must have been a slip knot. Didn't care about losing the basket (it was his) but I hated wasting those crappie.

Wife threw my pocket knife in lake. She was cutting ribs out of fillet and threw the knife instead of the ribs. Should of seen the look on her face when I looked at her. THREW MY KNIFE IN THE LAKE DIDN'T YOU? YES.

Friend dropped his cell phone in the lake at Jacomo Marina. Several saw it. When he went back the next day one of the guys said he had several calls.

I took my clumsy cousin with me to Ky Lake. He was redesigning the tite lok spider rig and had placed the four rod holders on top of the ice box. After working on it a few minutes he decided to get something to drink - opened the ice box and all four rod holders slid into the lake unharmed. In a way I lost them since he never paid me back.

I saw a guy drop his money clip w/$400 in it off a dock on about 15' of water. He jumped in and I'll be darned if he didn't come up with it.

I have lost an expensive pair of sunglasses that I thought was secure to my head. I now have those nice straps. I lost an anchor that wasn't tied properly. I now check my knots. Myself a couple of times in January as I was getting back up from pulling the anchor in and hit my behind on the front seat and over I went. This happed twice 2 years in a row. Bought bigger boat and will always have a ladder on the back for such occasions. Hard to pull 270 in the boat with out a ladder. Kinda cold in TN in Jan. to go swimming. Had plenty of fish though. Cellphones do dry out!

I got hung up on Enid Lake, MS, and leaned over to free it. My cell phone was in my shirt pocket and plunked right down into 17 feet of water.

Pair of Ray-Bans... turned around to see if the motor was "peeing" running
down the lake, and splash they go. But a friends Dad planted a favorite
old fiberglass Fenwick rod and 4500C in about 40 feet of water for me.

My Track phone came unsnapped off my belt and plopped into the lake like an anchor. This was right after I had just purchased more time and minutes. Thought maby the fish would call me and let me know if they were in a feeding mood. Never did receive a call.

I did loose a cheap Zebco 33 off the back of the boat as it got hung up while repositioning the boat.

After getting into winter crappie fishing I added pipe wrap insulation to the rods between the reel and the first eye. I use this flotation on all my rods all seasons now. It allows me to be less careful and I have retreived rods 4 or 5 times now since adding the flotation. Sure is nice to see the rod and reels just laying there on the surface after goofing up.

I dropped my cell phone in the water while bank fishing yesterday. It was only under water for a few seconds but it's fried. I didn't have the protection plan so I am going to get screwed. On the plus side I did catch lots of fish.
