You can also use canned shrimp. They're already really small, so not as much chopping. They're in the same aisle with the tuna.
Great Idea. I do something similar up here in the Pacific Northwest for Steelhead. I use prawns, peel them and cut them into chunks at each segment. I do get my share of fish and it's amazing how long one prawn will last. I never thought about using salt and I can see how that helps. I'm going to try your Cajun Candy trick on Crappie this season and I'm sure it's going to work well. I'm wondering if there is a specific type of shrimp you use and what size of shrimp. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I fish like a girl. If you tried a little harder, you could too!!
I think any shrimp will do as long as they're properly frozen. You can either cut them up in nibblet size when they're thawing (still stiff) or you can also cut them in larger chunks, add salt (plenty salt) and after they drain overnight they will firm up enough to cut them small enough. Cut them small, no bigger than a nibblet. I never met a fish that didn't like a shrimp....SLIP
I'm going to have to give this a try, thanks for the tip
