Just started using Super Glue this weekend on my Yum Beavertails. Every time I would get a bite the grub would get pulled halfway off the jighead. Glue works great and I also pull the Palomar knot to top of the jighead and place a drop of the Super Glue Gel on the knot and eye of the jighead. Keeps me from having to reposition the knot everytime I catch a fish or hang up.

I bought a bottle of "Fly Fishing Glue" by Carlson but I bet regular Super Glue Gel would work.

I often wonder if the bluegills of Sunfish are the ones pulling the plastic grubs off the jig heads. The frequent the same spots as crappie sometimes and they are much more prone to just grab the tenticles on a squirmin squirt than to inhale the entire jig body.

It's just my theory based on the physical shape of the two fish's mouths. Brim or sunfish have such a tiny mouth that they can't eat a 1.5" long plastic jig body along with the 1/16oz jig head. Where even a small crappie has such a big mouth that they can easily inhale the entire jig and plastic jig body in one gulp. If you watch the two fish feeding in an aquarium you will see what I am talking about. I am sure that the guys and gals that have some crappie in their aquariums will know this and back me up.

Been feeding my little sunfish and my three little crappie some cut up balony and some cut up hot dogs the other day. The hot dogs were cut too large for the one crappie to eat. He sucked the hot dog in several times only to spit it back out as he could not swallow it. But he kept going back for the same piece of hot dog. Earlier he was eating small pieces of baloney that I had cut up into smaller stips. He ate those just fine as did the other two crappie. I had to cut the baloney into even smaller pieces so that the bluegill could eat some too.

I have keep these three little crappie in my aquarim since last November when I stopped fishing and have been keeping them alive on Balony alone. The sunfish I caught last summer with my fly rod at the launch ramp on Blue Gass Pit. Heres a photo of the site where I caugh the sunfish. I caught the three small crappie on Otter Pit and they were just too small to clean and eat. So I decided to keep them in my aquarium until this year when I will let them go back into the same waters I caught them from. I am tired of cleaning the crappie poop out of the gravel in my aquarium. LOL so back to the wild they go.

This what Mike Rice says about his glue.

"Fishermen now have a soft plastic bait fishing glue compatible with fresh and salt water that repairs tears and holds soft baits on hooks like a magnet in 5-10 seconds. It stays flexible, strong, waterproof, non toxic, and odorless to humans and fish and keeps you fishing longer. Whether it be fresh water walleye & bass plastics or just to tie your own fly's matching the hatch, we've got you covered".

I know Crazy glue has a nasty smell to it.It might be cheaper if that's what the issue is.

I like the idea of being able to use Mike's glue to repair torn fish bitten plastics, and also to make up different variations of plastics to see if they catch crappies,as many of us sometimes do.How many times have you added a different grub body to a bait that was meant to not have it added?Too many times that I can count.
