    Default My new Pondtoon

Here is a couple pics of my new Pondtoon. Thanks to Blackhawk19 and Canepole for sharing theirs on this site otherwise I probably would have never found mine. Sorry about the sideway pic maybe someone will fix it for me. Got most everything done just need a mount for my depth finder and couple other minor things. For me I don't think I could have found a boat that works better than this one does...

^^ that thing looks perfect for people trolling Reelfoot.

You guys with bass boats. Is the ride that much better than a big aluminum boat? I'll be in the market for an additional boat in a couple years. I want something in the 20'+ range. With the prices for aluminum boats that size in the $20 thousand dollar range, I've begun looking for alternatives. Maybe even a bay boat but it don't know the draft they have. Used bass boats are plentiful. Would kinda like something I could take the family out in to tube and swim too. I think I want a center console but not sure.

My boat posted above rides as well as my 18' nitro did. Of course in the nitro I was doing 65, this boat is 45mph. Fished 3 out of it this weekend comfortably and can seat 5 easily while on plane. They are about the same price as a used glass rig, but new you know what you're getting. 45 would be plenty fast. I do want something big and wide with a smooth ride. I had a 17' Lakesport and it would beat you to death in a 1' chop. That's why I'm leaning 20' or longer. Will defiantly be used. There are a ton of boats out there that were bought on impulse , used a few times , then put up.
