i've caught 36 lb blue cat on crappie jig, a 29 lb flathead, 17 lb striper , 8 lb largemouth. have caught up to 11 different species in same day, forgot about the 25 1/4 lb carp...he out fought all of'em
We just about always pick up a pan sized channel cat or two while crappie fishing. They're suckers for a pink/chart/white tube tipped with a minnow around here. They go nuts for egg sacks tied with crappie roe, too. - Roberta

On night stalks we've boated a few cats and bass on minnows.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
I have caught cats on a jig but only when they were scented with a liquid spray.
I was out this week and on a Blakemore Road Runner caught 5 catfish, 2 freshwater drums, a bluegill, 8 striped bass, and about 75 crappie. Never know whats going to come up next.
We were Fishing the Classic on Lake Wylie a few years ago on the Southern Crappie Trail , I want to think it was the Month of May , anyway , the Catfish were spawning & ANYTIME we got in water under about 11 feet deep , we caught Catfish, we did NOT want them as the Slime in the Boat was NOT a good thing for Crappie gills when trying to keep them alive, SO the that night we went to Whally world & bought us a cooler , next day we Filled it up with Cats , bought another cooler & filled it up the next day , I have NO IDEA how many catfish we could have caught on Jigs tiped with Minnows we COULD have caught IF we had been using stronger line & a few less rods so we would not had such a mess with tangled lines !! as it was we had WAY too many catfish to fillett Sunday when we got home !!
