I toss some baking soda in with mine in the wash. It will neutralize mosts smells. Thing is, it's summer time, your cap gets wet from sweat, then it sours if not dried soon. Clothes is a washing machine will do the same if not placed in the dryer right away if your utilities are in a hot garage.
Dryers ruin most bills, so give her a good rinse every now and then and let it sun dry. Wash it when it starts getting to you, or someone close to you.

I get mine wet in the sink then spray them with Simple Green. Let them set for about ten minutes then throw them in the dishwasher. When they are done and dry out there will be no odor.

I bought a cap at Academy thats 100% polyester, its that Magellan brand they carry. Its super thin material so its light and wont set your head on fire out in the sun, and the polyester doesnt soak up sweat as much as cotton caps. I toss it in the wash a couple times a week and it comes out looking just like new, no warping or anything. Of course this was in the womens section, I aint sure if they have them for you boys, but it might be worth a look

For the most part I stopped wearing baseball style caps a long time ago. I had over a 100, all in the same condition as yours. Trouble with ball caps is the material, specifically the headband (if it has one) and cardboard lined bill. Plus they don't cover the ears, or the back of the neck, leading to sunburn on both.

Today I prefer wide brimmed hats, typically 3" all the way around. Keeps the sun out of my eyes, just like a ball cap, however it has the added benefit of keeping the snow/rain off my ears, and from going down the back of my shirt. Plus it keeps my ears/back of my neck from sunburn. I order a new one each season. Sure they cost a bit more than ballcaps, however I find it worth it in the long run.
