I agree 100% with my buddy ole duckhunter, it's the enjoyment we get out of it at the Golden Years. I'm lucky if I don't loose at least 1-3 crankbaits a day. But the fish are there so I throw in the pads and stickups. Memories are what fishing is all about. CATCH AND RELEASE TAG THE FISH AND YOU'D BE SURPRISE

If I wanted to save money I wouldn't be doin much fishing. I usually buy either a few packs of 1 - 1&1/2 oz lead weights, jig heads, tubes, or new cranks... And it don't take long for that to add up... So i'm well over the $10 mark

I get my jigheads on line for 6-9 cents apiece - soft plastics I make myself for 4 cents or less. Pickerel are the worst for lost lures as well as a few deep snags. All in all, gas, food and boat access fee are the largest expenses.

I think this poll is biased against people who don't catch fish. Pfffft.

I voted 1 to 2. So far this year I've been spider rigging more than anything. On a bad day, I might loose 4 or 5 set ups which would run around $3 or $4 depending on which hook and how I have it rigged. On a good day, maybe 1 or even none. Now that's the rate of burn. I might buy 3 or 4 packs of something on the way to or from the lake that might bust my estimate.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.

I spend almost nothing. I've got a huge inventory of hand-tied jigs plus loads of jig heads and various plastic bodies.

Unfortunately, I keep buying rods and reels.

I learned a trick from a guy in texas...use spider wire. 8-10 lb test. You can pull your jigs out of most brush and save alot of time and money along the way

I usually will snag up 20-30 times per day and only loose 2-3 jigs. Plus I hand paint
all of my jigs and buy most of the unpainted heads online, via shopping

Sounds like those who primarily use crankbaits are going to be over 10.00, those using soft plastics are going to be under 2.00, and the live bait users will fall somewhere inbetween (with a few exceptions and combination users, naturally).
