Early spring is especially good. Crappie tend to run a little bigger then. Love spring when crappie move in but June can be very productive. As far as being on the water goes, late fall is great fishing and great weather. You want to be in the woods and the lake the whole time. Weather is about as stable as it gets all year.

    Late fall, Early winter.
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.

I love the spring bite, mostly because lakes freeze over here for months at a time and I don't ice fish, so once ice breaks I'm on the water. But with the unpredictable weather, it can be rough. The fall bite, is probably my favorite. Once you find a pattern in the fall, the weather is a lot more stable, and you can stay on the fish for weeks at a time. I catch bigger fish in numbers in the fall as well.
