    It's 5 years old, but has been garaged other than days on the water. The guy inspected the tire before we did it, and didn't try to sell me a 2nd one, so that gave me some comfort. Bearings are good, just checked them last night. Max pressure is 50, I keep them at 48.

    The spare tire was mounted on the frame not on the axle when blew! Good luck on your trip, probably wont have a problem, but things happen.

    Cars have shocks and trailers don't. Trailer tires have more plies in order withstand everything that shocks protect car tires from. I would go with trailer tires on your trailer for sure.
