I fish a couple of spots that don't produce early very well, but come on as the sun rises. The higher the sun gets the tighter the fish get to the cover. The cloudy days are golden and produce in moderation throughout the morning. I'm generally there as close to first light as I can get and leave before noon.

Great thread...as a newbie crappie fisherman, this is very beneficial to hear all the 1st hand account light bite/tough conditions experiences from all of you.
