By the way, i hope i ain't boring everyone, i guess writing these little stories like this this is my way of coping with the stress broght on by not catching what i'm after. EOD in the navy can't be this stressful. LOL

You know the Japanese believe that bringing bananas on a fishing trip brings bad luck.

I went on two saltwater fishing trips while stationed at Okinawa. We had a MSgt who went with us the first time and we weren't catching a thing despite the great weather, found out he brought bananas with him and the Japanese guys started flipping out and took us back in immediately. The next day i went out with the same guys, minus the MSgt, it was a horrible day, choppy waters, cold, and rainy. Same spots as the day before, we pulled 17 redfish, 5 groupers, and 7 mahi mahi among the 4 of us.

I don't about special minnows, but i never bring bananas on a fishing trip after that day.

OK, seems to be a lot interest in the "special" minnows, I called the Shaman this morning and after some hard bargaining i negociated a group rate! 348.40, you will have to pay in advance in cash, and get this, as a bonus he will come and pick up all the boats and gear, he will call and let everyone know where to pick them back up in a couple of months! OK, who's in?

Hey Chris Carter, i read your post and gotta tell ya that's spooky, why? because yesterday the only thing i had to eat was a big yellow banana that i grabbed on the way out the door. By the way, never fished in Okinawa, but i used to make deployments there as part of a Navy agressor squadron, if anyone thinks south georgia is hot in the summer, try standing on the tarmac at Kadena AFB in Okinawa. I have to admit the aviation Marines at MCAS Yuma taught me a neat trick, they keep their tools in a bucket of water when changing out engines and such, if ya leave them laying around in the sun, when ya go to pick them up ya third degree burns on your hands, saw a bunch of Marines with both hands bandaged, they were said to be slow learners. Now before ya'll Marines think i'm pinging on ya, ain't true, i always wanted to be a Marine, just wasn't good enough, so i went in the Navy so i could at least make sure they didn't get lost and got to where the were needed, which come to think about it, was EVERYWHERE

My local bait guy has a special garuntee on all his minnows. If you don't have any luck on them, take them back and he'll go fishing with 'em.
