I have to agree with you Thumbs Up If I had to fish with one jig-head size it would be a 1/16 .

I like a 1/32oz ballhead collared pink w/ black eye. Caught the first crappie of my life on that 20 years ago.

1/16oz ballhead with #2 Aberdeen hook ... Y-guard or fiber brush style weedguards ... made by site member "Grousefly". Hands Clapping

Been using his jigheads for almost 10yrs ... been using the Y-guard style jighead most of the last 20yrs, or more -- can't say as I remember EVER losing a fish "because of" the weedguards. The weedguards don't seem to keep the fish from biting my jighead/plastics, either

Being as I'm mostly casting jigs, and target heavy cover, a weedless jig is essential. And I agree that they're not that good for trolling, but I don't troll that much, anyway.

    1/8 head with a #2 Gamakatsu hook
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.

I like my pony jigs but when using a minnow on a jig it's gotta be a 1/16th oz ball head.
