I used to have a rolled up bandana that would form a tube when soaked in cold water, and you would tie it around your neck. The cold part would rest on the back of your neck and keep you cool. I used it a lot while I was hauling hay and it helped, but it was a pain to tie on, and it would slip around and get coated with dirt. Haven't ever thought of finding one to use while fishing.

Vests and caps sound like they would work better....I wonder how heavy they are?

Yeah they make them for the military too and they can be worn under your other clothing or armor. I googled around and found some on Amazon for a bit cheaper but by a different company. I even saw a vest someone was selling where you insert those blue square frozen gel packs but those are much bulkier than the crystal technology vests. As far as weight goes I saw vests at 5lbs-9lbs depending on the size you wear. For me personally even if I wear a 9lb vest, I'll be sitting on my boat seat and not walking around with it too much so the weight won't bother me as long as it can really keep me cool.

I think I'm going to order one and see how well it works and if I like it I'm gonna get another so I can swap them out during the day.
