    I use 20# braid and have not lost a single setup in the last 2 years.
    You can either put the hook directly on the snap or I use a 4" mono leader.

    I like your set up. I use a loop knot for the action it gives my jig. If you don't mind sharing could you let me know which size fastlock you use?

    With a 4" mono leader I get plenty of action from the minnow.
    I only use the slip bobbers in spawn time on my 10ft rod.

    I use a drop shot system most of the year.
    90% of the time they will be at 3ft off the bottom in 15-18ft
    until winter puts them deeper.
