    Cool G3

I have a tracker 175txw and if I had it to do over I would not hesitate to go with
A G3 now that I know what I need in a boat. they are about the same price.
A deep V is what you need for crappie.
    Thumbs Up

+1, that 162T and Guide V170T are some sweet looking sleds. I have the G3 1448 now and hopefully sometime in the not to distant future will upgrade.

Deep V rides better than anything else, more so if it is heavy glass, aluminum as well, but it tends to be lighter so does not ride quite as well. The disadvantage when fishing is stability. The glass bass boats are all the rage because they are really stable when walking from side to side, etc. and well designed for the task of fishing.

I get tired of being swamped all the time from the rear being so low in the water.
I can't handle waves over 2ft the boat just slams into the next wave.
more storage areas and room to move around a whole lot easier.
Not just for crappie, they are perfect for catfishing as well.

There are some drawbacks to the deep vees though depending on how you like to fish. I've always thought that the deep vees wouldn't as do well in shallow water or tight cover (cypress). The aluminum vees that I've fished had a fair amount of "roll" from side to side. I personally like a bigger mod vee. Seems like a more versatile rig IMO. Handles rougher water decently while trolling and pretty good stability while maintaining some ability to go shallow. Again it all depends on how and where you like to fish. Here in west TN the mod vee seems to be the boat of choice for most crappie fishermen.

Well me and the wife been out again. I looked at the g3 boats they are nice. But the that caught my eye was the 1860 cc dlx. I loved that you could walk around the whole boat, two live wells, with that being a jon boat how does it ride.

Thanks Meatgetter. I looked at that boat online that is real nice boat. I am thinking of going up to Mountain View. What I don't like is the fact you have to use a yammy on a g3. I would rather have an etech.I priced a WE 754 VS Stick man that was a little high and not the room I expected. The CC seems roomy but you really need a 19ft to get the benefit. I will be looking at the Stalker for sure. Did you do anything different than the layout online? BTW I really appreciate everyones help and advice. When you are bout to drop some good coin you don't want to wish you had done it different. I really love this site.

Do you know that you have no other option than a Yamaha on a G3? I suspect that if a guy wanted a boat, he could find a dealer to get you the boat, and then put whatever you wanted on it. Well, whatever motor he handled anyway. Or, order the boat, then take it to an Etec guy and put one on it. Shouldn't be a problem. The only thing you might run in to is the hassle of putting together the two prices into one loan, if you are borrowing money for it. If not, then definitely not a problem. You can get whatever you want.
