the sidewinder looks like the real deal.
the boards i use will keep your bait at any depth when you find out what depth the crappie are just set them all so you can troll the same depth, plus the board will let you troll over alot shallower water, they can troll as shallow as 1 ft if necessary or over deep water as well . another point i like is when turning mine keep the baits from getting tangled up on a sharp turn , because they are staggered, in addition they are out away from the boat.i have used them for 3 or 4 yrs now and hardly ever long line troll much anymore . i'm not saying its any better at all, i just like this way

josh, if and when you order you might want to order an extra "bill" and "line release."
AxTackle.com
that link shows them and the planer board. that way if you lose one or the other you won't have to wait on another order.
ya I was wondering if and how sturdy the piece parts were

Josh, we use "Offshore Planer Boards" with the tattle flag attatchment. They work great for trolling
Bandits and other similar crankbaits. When the flag drops, its fish on!!! We leak them clipped to the line as we reel them in. Then unclip the board when it gets in the boat.
