    Default Caught this this morning

I'm in Indiana, not Bama, Sippie... I saw this post yesterday and I'm glad to be able to report back. :D

Even here, an 11 7/8" fish still won't fit in order to be measured correctly. Catch and release day, or I would've put it next to a tape. I do believe this fish was just under 12", even though it's obviously over the 12" mark.

You have to be careful with all measuring devices. I always try and find out what device the wardens use at whatever lake I am fishing and I go by that measurement. I have even checked several tape measurers bought from stores and they would not even be accurate.

Yeah, I actually got checked 3 times and the 3rd was the charm so to speak. You could have slid a piece of paper between the tail of those short ones and the 12" mark. Because I was trying to add some to make sure I wasn't short the illegals were very close. Oh well. Live and learn.

    .

If Frabill sells a poor quality checker then maybe the rest of the product line is also of poor quality.

No, the normal 12" COE Big-4 fish won't fit in the E-Z Checker. Most won't come close. The Golden Rule is as accurate as they come, but it's hard to check a floppin fish. That's the reason I homemade my own using the Golden Rule, some 4" PVC, and some aluminum stock. If it's questionable, it goes in easy, and comes out easy. The ones that are questionable are the ones I want to keep, anyway.
