The only time I get within yelling distance to another
boat is to ask "How deep are they?" or to trade similar
info back. But I keep moving and would never anchor
or interfere with their course. I also keep it brief. I'm
not out there to gab and I assume they aren't either.

People do get posssesive about their stupid brushpiles.
And docks! A foul-mouthed elderly lady tried to run me
away from her dock because I was catching "her" fish.

Had some guys try to do that to me bass fishing last summer, but if they get that close to me they'll might need to go to the hospital to get some treble hooks removed from their body.

The idiots blasted thru the creek mouth within 40 yds of us and stopped about 50 yds ahead. We proceeded to catch 4 right behind them, and they had none. The fished the rest of that bank, then crossed to the other bank I had already planned on fishing. They started on one end, and I started on the other. About halfway down, we met. I was not going to give these rude guys an inch of room. They got closer, closer, and closer, so I grabbed my rattle trap on my favorite baitcaster and began casting it less than 5' from the guy in the front of his boat. It was quite funny how they instantly became "so friendly." Asked how we were doin, informed us they just needed a couple more gud 'uns for the tourney they were in, and scoped out our rigs as they passed. Best part was they witnessed us throwing back the "couple more gud 'uns" they needed so bad!!

IF I can hit you or your boat with my lure, you are WAY to close. And believe me, I will let you know.

That's funny! I took my friend and his little boy out last sunday. It was the little one's first crappie trip. He asked me, "Do we have to pay these people to fish their lawns?" My friend and I cracked up! Sound like that "lady" is thinking on a 7 yr old level!

Ernest, I'll bet that fella wore a hat to cover up the neon "vacancy" sign on his forehead. I get that now and then, and it's hard for me to not get wound up, but I can't let my temper get the best of me. Take comfort in the fact that you have more skills than he ever dreamed of. If he had any, he wouldn't have to act like he did. He is the hands down winner of the Butthead of the day award.

You could jot down his registration number and report the vessel to your State DNR. Now one single complaint will not warrant any action, but in Alabama after 5 complaints in a one year period from different people the State Marine Police start looking for the vessel on the water. As you can imagine, when they find that vessel they do a COMPLETE inspection and will cite any violations found.

At one time in my life, I would have been really upset about encroachment. But, I have learned to control of my emotions. This happened to me an billbob several times last year. They got so close, we could spit in their boats. We just moved on. This world is getting full of disrespectful's and haters. I sure wouldn't risk my life over a fish. People have been shot here on Ky Lake over this same issue.

Chunk one right up in his boat and then excuse yourself, " Woops! Sorry, I've been fishing right there for awhile and didn't see you pull right into my line of sight where I've been casting." "Would you like for me to move or woud it be too much trouble to ask you to be polite and move?"

See, I get hard headed when stuff like that happens. I'd NEVER do that to someone else, and don't mind tellin others who do that they've screwed up.
