CA looks like he been eating too much chocolate. Just kidding, may have gotten into some kind of sludge that done him in.
Pick this fish up out ot the water on Friday. looked at and snapped a pic and left it for the turtles. The board is 14 inches. Nice heavy fish otherwise. Any idea, 1. What was up with it's mouth? and 2. Is that what killed it?
thanks!

Be as smart as you can, but it is always better to be wise than to be smart.

Looks kinda like a lymphocystis infection .
It also looks like the fish is in the first stages of decomposition , making it a bit harder to diagnose .
whatever it is, lets hope it's not contagious. Looked like it would be a rough way to go. I've found floaters in the spring that I believed gave it up because of the stress of the spawn but they didn't look like this. What's puzzling, except for the mouth, it looks like it hasn't been dead long. Maybe Prister will have an idea on this.
things that make you go hhmmmmm.
Looks to me like he needs to give oh slab a call and get some crappie.com chapstick. I think its a little chapped.
