Only thing new that fits that category, I believe, are the Lowrance M68C or the HB385ci Combo. A 3.5" screen is tough to see from very far away.

The Lowrance on my boat that I want to sell and get a side image. Best deal around. Just kidding. What I will tell you is to do your homework and talk to everyone you can before you buy. There's a lot of good equipment out there and you need some education before you pull the trigger on one. I will say that I don't care for the older Eagle gps because the mapping is too general. My Lowrance is a few years old and has good mapping and the newer ones are better yet. SD cards for map updates are also good.

Hey Keith, Cabelas has the Humminbird 597 ci hd combo on sale for 499.99. This is marked down from 569.99. It is a color unit and has a GPS with internal antennae. I ordered one about a week ago and it is supposed to arrive tomorrow. You can get more detailed information on the unit from Humminbird website. This is a great deal, one of my friends from westtncrappeclub also ordered this unit.

I actually bought my Humminbird 788C off eBay for less than $500 with free shipping. It was factory brand new in the original box with all warranty. I felt I got a steal and was shocked that it went for that on auction. Check around and sometimes a deal falls in your lap.
